We compete in 2 Chess Leagues: Leamington & District and Oxfordshire.  In the Leamington & District League we have 4 Teams: 2 in the 1st Division, 1 in the 3rd Division and 1 in the 4th Division. In the Oxfordshire League we have 2 teams: 1 in the 1st Division and 1 in the 3rd Division.

In addition, since the 2010/11 season, we have played in the 4NCL (the National Chess League) under the name of the Banbury Bulldogs.

The LEAM League KO competition finals are being held this Tuesday. Banbury are into ALL 3 finals so let’s cheer on our teams.

4NCL: Banbury Bulldogs - They face 3 rounds over this final weekend in this season’s competition.

Cowley 2 managed to defeat Didcot 1, by the narrowest margin, in what was clearly a very tight match; well done to both teams.  This of course means that Banbury 1 are relegated from Division 1 of the OXON League.......pass the tissues!

Banbury D finished their season with a good draw against the strong Olton D.  Michael’s excellent win is now on the BLOG.
